Togo

A CEI programme has been in implementation in Togo since 1987. In addition, in 2009, two ministerial orders institutionalized School Health Education for the Prevention of AIDS and STIs. One hour per week is devoted to this separate lesson in secondary schools. Educational materials have been revised, teacher training launched, and SRH was added a few years later. Different projects have been implemented by partners, but none has been scaled up. A National Programme Against Child Marriage and Teenage Pregnancy 2015-2019 was developed and implemented. School violence, a related subject, is covered through a specific module on which all primary school head teachers have received training.
